B3 leaking

2006 B3 leaking oil. Just noticed it last night. I changed the oil before storing for winter but saw seepage last night. Last fall was hectic so didn't get to clean the outdrive so the seepage stands out now. Any idea what the issue might be or what is needed to fix it? The starboard side seems to be leaking around the vent plug. I had to reuse the old gaskets cause I thought I had new ones but didn't so plan to replace those before splashing but want to find and fix this seepage too.

    There is an o-ring gasket on that cover,  have to drian down to remove cover

    It looks like the cover on the one side and then maybe the connect from the resivoir on the other?

    I don’t think there’s supposed to be oil in that area.

    Yes If Chris is referring to part 32 and oring 30. Be careful with tightened gas down - these crack easy, PO mechanic must have and I had to replace both, one had been botched to not leak.

    I know that the lower section isn’t supposed to have oil in it because on the opposite side is the shift cable.

    Can't confirm it's oil but don't know what else it would be. The part I'm referring to is #32 and the gasket would be #30. If there isn't supposed to be oil in it then how would it get there? Where might it be coming from?

    There is oil in the top but the rectangle on bottom has on oil just open for the shift linkage.

    looking at the pics it looks like it is leaking from higher up. Gonna check it tomorrow. I found a new gasket/o-ring online.

    Behind cover #32, there is drive oil in that location. To change the gasket you need to drain down some of the drive oil.

    Just ordered a bunch of stuff. Anodes, o/d fill/vent plug gaskets, the o-ring for #32, etc. Gonna rain the next few days so might just wait until all the stuff gets here. I did wipe off the 'seepage' and cleaned that area 2 days ago and it's still dry but I'd rather be safe than sorry so will pull it apart, clean, and reassemble with new o-ring.

    Got the new o-ring yesterday and the drain plug gaskets came today but it's supposed to get down to 28 tonight and a chance of snow. No hurry to get it done. Maybe this weekend if it warms up a little

    When you do it make sure to grease the the ball on the cover

    geesh.....did your state not hear it is spring time boatman? We are in the bone chilling 80's on Saturday and then back to the 90's on Easter.....

    Apparently not. Woke up to about 1" of white stuff outside and not too much warmer tomorrow. Supposed to be in the 60's Sunday. Gotta love Pittsburgh weather this time of year...lol

    Replaced the 'o-ring' today and refilled drive oil. Will see if it continues to leak. The 'cap' side looked like new but the drive side had a little bubbling so we will see how it holds up. If it leaks again I will sand it down and repaint it.

    Nope. Pittsburgh. Not far from Cableguygreg. In fact pretty sure  saw him go by our marina a year or so ago cause there is a boat identical to his at our marina and I noticed the name was different. About 60* here today now but windy

    Yeah really. Not usually my luck though...lol. Cleaned off a few spots today and touched up paint on the O/D, installed the props and new anodes today too.

    Sweet glad to hear the fix worked. Did the same thing today props, anodes, new trim tabs touch up bottom paint next week and splash on 5/1
