Working from Boat

My darling partner of 30 plus years had spent the last 25 working for an international mining/resource company until a buyout last year when she was let go. Since then she has incorporated and started a consulting company and has done work for companies in Australia and the US and Canada. We had planned a two day outing on the boat but a last minute contract fell in her lap with a short deadline and could lead to other work. So after a morning puttering (and pouting a bit) at home I convinced her to come to the boat and try working there. We have Wi-Fi in the marina, so land bound but at least we're in my happy place on the boat. She's working and I'm providing moral support. (See pic 2)
If it works I can see a data stick in our future for her laptop. So just bored and rambling a bit, but it does make me want to ask, have any of you successfully worked from your boat for any length of time?

Depending on your wireless carrier she could use her phone as a hotspot. A hotspot is included in our plan. I think the cost would be less than getting a standalone stick.
@TonyG13 we can tether our phones, I have 10 GB and she has 8 but the specialty mapping software she uses is web based and a real data hog because of graphics. I'm going to install a data use app on her laptop and see if tethering out on the water is feasible. Cell coverage on a lot of our lake is spotty also. But if it means more boating for me and more work for her I'll go freakin satellite if I have too!

Visible wireless, google it. 25 bucks a month, unlimited hot spot and unlimited data on your phone. It runs off of verizon towers.
