boat and trailer weight

Need to know what my 2007 Rinker 240 Captiva DB weighs as well as the 2007 Tennessee Tandem trailer that went with it. Think internet said boat's about 4250 lbs but nothing for trailer. Looking to buy new vehicle for hauling this so need total weight specs. Thanks.

If thats the wieght of the boat empty should add about 1000# and I would say the trailer is 1500# so 6750# for hauling.

New half ton trucks can rate near 10,000 lbs towing capacity. You should have plenty of options.

You will usually run out of payload before you ever reach max tow capacity so pay attention to payload. Boats typically only have about 8% or so tongue weight so even with that boat you are probably only at about 650lbs on tongue weight. A typical 1500 today has about 1500lbs of payload so you should be safe there. Payload is listed on the yellow sticker on the drivers side door jamb and includes anything you have in or on the truck, including running boards, tonneau cover, firewood, luggage coffee cups, etc. Probably the worst payload is the 2010ish to 2019 (old body style) Ram 1500. They are typically about 1300lbs depending on options. The new body style Ram is a little higher. But with the boat you mentioned any 1500 should be fine.
