Second trip to Block Island

Finally got a chance to go back to Block this summer.  We went with some friends who own a 28 foot Albin TE.  Left Portsmouth RI at the top of the Sakonnet River at 6 am and arrived about 2 1/2 hours later. Smooth ride.  We stayed for a couple nights on anchor and dinghied back-and-forth to the beach.  The harbor is so well serviced you can get food, ice, pump out and they will even and pick up your trash/ all boat side. The trip home was quite different in dense fog and I had to follow my friend very closely because I do not have radar. We poked our way back around 8 kn and it took over four hours but it was no issue. Planning to head back again in a couple of weeks!
