Winterize engines, boat in water?

in Rinker Express Cruisers Forum
Cant find any info on winterizing engines in the water. i dont see any shutoff valves for the water intake hose coming from the transom to the sea water pump.. Wont water rush in if i start pulling blue plugs? Or can i just drain it normally from the seawater pump, t-stat, and main drain under the power steering pump. Then fill with pink stuff. Any help appreicated.  :*

    I found the answer from a mechanic at the marina. You split the intake hose at a coupler by removing a wire retaining clip. Its above the water line so water wont come rushing in. Then winterize as normal.

    Water will still run in, you will have to plug the hose on the transom side.

    Or just tie it up or hold it over the water level.?

    If the boat rocks water will still push in.

    twin 350 mags. Hoses are very near the water line probably have to tie them up as mentioned.

    The answer is to use a plastic bag like the ones you get for vegtables and just disconnect the lines and cover them with plastic before you reconnect them. Keeps the frozen water on 1 side and antifreeze on the other.
