    Yeah.  And I heard today that the NHL is thinking of restarting Jan 1st. with an Outdoor Classic style game....but on a natural waterbody.  Suggestions so far have been Lake Louise, the Rideau Canal and our very own Lake Simcoe.
    Lake Louise has the best chance of good ice on New Years Day.

    Where I originally come from in Northern Ontario 6 foot ice was common. Had to put extensions on the ice augers so we could fish. About 6 weeks of -40 every winter. I don't miss it.

    The only players that will like natural ice in early Jan are going to be from well north of our border line.  Maybe a guy from Alaska and a dude from Siberia.  

    Was 48 one morning a week ago and I was too cold.
