Jabsco toilet

Last year we seem to be getting unwanted smells. Does anyone know what keeps the fumes from coming up through the toilet? Is there supposed to be a flap on our 2003 312 or is their a water trap.

    There is a joker valve. Silicone/Rubber piece that is something that should be changed every other season. It opens like a mouth to let your stuff out and then closes to not let anything back up. Should be pretty easy to replace, a few screws on the side of the toilet.

    We had the smells last season and we replaced the joker valve which was in very bad shape. Now the boat smells fresh and clean everytime we get on board ☺️

    If the smell is primarily when you flush then you need to research putting in a charcoal filter on the septic vent line.  Tons of stories on it here.  Everything from home made ones to the favored Big O.

    Thank you for that video. I was expecting a gate in the toilet like the camper we have . I thought I was missing a part. Just ordered from Amazon 10.95 thanks again.
