Interesting story about Yamaha partnering with Siren Marine which started as a remote boat tracking service and is expanding into internet and mobile related apps that will allow a user to "interact" and monitor their Yamaha outboards. Sort of Smartcraft on steroids. But if you can track it, you can bet so can Yamaha. I can see huge potential for issues around warranty claims for example. "Never used in salt water you say?" We can see you were in the Keys hanging out with Jeff. And while there, over-revved the engine getting off that sandbar....OK, maybe I'm paranoid.

That seems like a solution for a problem that doesn't exist.

Kind of like the self driving cars that drive themselves back for bank repossession.

You won’t connect directly to the motor.  It will go thru a server that they control.  Probably monthly fee as well.  You bet they will know.
