Oil pressure high

Just bought my 2000 Rinker Captiva 232.  It has a Mercruiser 350 MAP MPI with Bravo III outdrive.

The oil pressure gauge is reading maxed out.  Not sure if it is the gauge or the Oil pressure sender at this point.  Anyone ever have this issue and what did you do to fix it ?
I ordered and received the oil pressure sender (8M0068784) but not exactly seeing a perfect match for this on my engine to replace.  My engine serial # is 0L363645.  The parts guy assured me this is the correct part.

I thought I had the right one on the engine but it seems like it is some sort of water pressure sender instead so popped that one back in.

Oil pressure sending unit should be on the lower aft port side of the block. It’s possible that the wire fell off on the one that’s installed.

Does it have a blue connector on the end of it ?

Assuming that it is the original wire ?

8M006874 is the correct part #. With ignition on remove wire from sender, gauge should read zero. Touch the  wire to ground and you should get full scale deflection. If this is what you get then the wiring and gauge are ok, you have a sender problem.

Thanks Grahamu.  I will give that a go when I have time and feedback results.
