I’m on this again. I can’t get the temps down below 43 even when ambient is below 70. They are normally close to 48 which is borderline milk spoiling territory.

I would understand this if the compressor just ran constantly, but it doesn’t, which makes me assume it’s a calibration issue. I have the fridges set at 7 which I assume is coldest.

Should I pull the capillary tubes out of the fridge walls? @Handymans342 any suggestions to get the fridges to run cooler?

Yes, either the thermostat is bad or I believe you can adjust it. There should be a small screwdriver slot for that. Make sure coil is clean too

Pulled both fridges and coils are clean and fans are working.

Not sure that there is a way to calibrate the thermistor.

You can try to adjust it. Go one turn clockwise. See what happens. I would just replace.

The thermostat isn’t broken. It works fine. The range is just not good.

That screw is for the tension on the knob. No change to range.

I will try insulating the capillary tube.

Both fridges are operating exactly the same. I love throwing parts at things but this isn’t one that will be solved by replacing the thermostat.

It maybe a low gas pressure pressure but I doubt both at the same time

Here is another thing you can try. If you have a nice refrigerator thermometer you can jump out the tstat and see if it draws down to 36. Then you will know for sure

Ok, well, chalk this one up to inexperience.

I placed the thermometers in the door of the fridges for testing. The back of the fridge is actually much colder, actually below 32 degrees. So all is good.

So all is good? Load that fridge up with something then take temp again.

I’ve got them both set at 5 now and holding at about 37 degrees. Perfect for me.
