    Maybe best to ground the thruster right to the engine block?

    Pardon the wiring mess. This is the previous owner’s work over the years (second pic). My wiring is with my leg in the pic.  I plan to tackle it once the boat is ship shape. Chargers work like a champ. For the time being, the thruster will be outside the isolator path. It will just get charged on genset and shore power. I think that will be fine for now. I tested isolator and it’s in spec, but plan to swap out soon.

    I’m not happy with my own wiring, but I get fits of the vapours with what’s left to fix. Slow and steady wins the race

    thruster is now working fine on its own battery. Now it cannot cause a catastrophic failure like it could before, except if it catches fire and burns the boat down to the waterline.
