Noticed that recently our fresh water pump located under the floor in the middle of the boat (for our water in the kitchen) started to give us trouble. Whenwe start the water the pump it start for 2 seconds , stop and restart every second with not a lot of water pressure. Is it time to replace? Or should we check something first? Any advice welcome. If should be replaced , any recommendation on model?  Thank you.

I'd replace it.  In my experience, these pumps only last for 2-4 seasons of regular use.

Don't bother with anything faster than 4 GPM.  The constant on-off-on cycling will make the pump fail, and the sound is obnoxious.

Have you checked to make sure the system is clean especially the strainer?

Those pre-filters will trick you. Pretty gross at times.

Yeah they are nasty. I bought a bottle of water treatment to keep my tank fresh and I have been trying to use the water without reservation to keep it cycled.
