342 Hatch Lift

My hatch lift died and wont go up anymore. The acculift ph2408q mq347 is $400.00 just wondering if anyone found a cheaper one? I did a search on the RBOC and too many posts came up...lol Thanks for any help.

    @raybo I had my motor rebuilt for 30bucks by a starter alternator guy to find out the bushing on shaft was holding it back. pulled it apart used a wheel cylinder hone where the black meets chrome. When I bench tested the unit I could see where it would bind up(slow down). The black tube was hard to get to spin off but after some perswation she spun off.

    not to go too off topic, but... what does it mean if the switch doesn't work great, but if you use the posts with a jump box it goes up nice and strong?  7 out of 10 times the switch on the dash works, but it's weak and slow. I have replaced the switch, what else can be replaced?

    Mine was the switch mech, not always going up. No issues since. Connection? These wiring harnesses have little slack in them.

    If you want it to operate faster like when you jump it, you need to have the dash switch operate a relay that then uses a connection to the battery for full battery power.
