Aft bilge question

 my 270 fv has a funky smell coming from the aft bilge this year. I sucked out the water in order to get ready to replace my pump and float.  I noticed it appears there is a connection leaking at this box which also appears to be a pump. There are multiple hoses coming off the box.  Can anyone provide insight as to what the these hoses are to.  FYI We do not use the bathroom on our boat if that makes a difference.  We are the second owners and are not sure what exactly was done by the previous owner and what was done by rinker.

    That’s the shower sump. It looks gross. Replace it and you will likely solve the smell issue.

    You may not use it but the previous owners probably did. You can remove it and just give it a good cleaning,if the pumps is still good no need to replace it.

    Very yucky.  Is this just a reg bilge pump or do I have to get this particular pump?  I am also replacing the bilge and switch.   I will be replacing the float for the bilge pump so I will probably replace this one too.

    You should be able to just buy the pump inside that sump box however........ 

    You can buy the shower sump with the pump and it's not very expensive and given how gross it is I would just replace it and if the old pump works save it for spare. Or if you don't use the shower just remove the sump box clean everything and put it back in if it works.

    Probably smells because your ac drains condensation in there and that gets stinky

    Just replace it all. Worth the $150 tops.

    I Will replace it all.  Spent the afternoon scrubbing/ wet vacuuming the bilge.  I don’t think I can get that smell off of me quick enough

    My 270 had an awful smell when I first got it. I am not saying that it was it, but when I moved the AC drain hose to the shower box instead of having it drain into the bilge, that was the last I ever smelled that smell.

    Bleach it. Then leave bounce dryer sheets in there after.
