  I never have. Usually it will show signs of wear well before it will break.

  I have come along in the truck that serves multiple uses and could pull the boat up if needed.

  2004 FV270, 300hp 5.7 350mag MPI Merc 305hrs, 2:20 Bravo3 OD w.22p props, 12v Lenco tabs, Kohler 5kw genset, A/C, etc.etc...

  Regular weekender, Trailer stored indoors, M/V TikiHut, Sarasota, Fl

  Caveat: I always always use the tower chain once she's seated.

  I do carry a tow strap in the truck so I suppose I could use that in a pinch.

  mine broke last time I was out...cut off the bad looking part and tied up and kept on going...I have the safety chain so really the strap is just to get it on the trailer anyway.....will replace eventually but not a high priority unless someone tells be different!
