    that's awesome!!!

For Christmas, our children gave us a trip to New York to see the Christmas tree in 2024 because it has always been our dream to see it live once in our lives. We will be visiting New York for 5-6 days in December and are really looking forward to it!

Hello everyone, the time has almost come and we are leaving Frankfurt, Germany for New York. We are leaving on December 2nd with Singapore Airlines. We are extremely excited and looking forward to it. We will stay at the Hilton New York Midtown near Central Park and start our excursions from there. Now I have one more question. Does anyone have an "insider tip" for us as to where we should definitely go? We have most of the typical tourist attractions that you find on the Internet etc. on our to-do list. Thank you very much in advance for any tips and information. I wish you all a wonderful pre-Christmas period. Best wishes from Cologne, Peter.

Have a safe. Trip- I was puzzled by the date of the post but i re read back through it I caught back up. My wife's family is from the Baltimore area but we've never made it to Christmas in NYC- or new years but those crowds are to much for me. Christmas is supposed to be spectacular. Have an awesome trip and an early welcome to America from Florida .

Thank you very much, Rasbury. I'm not really into big crowds either, but it will be a once in a lifetime experience for me. It's always been my dream to see it once in my life and so it's about time for us. Best wishes, Peter.

don’t now How long your staying but if you have time a quick ride on the circle line around Manhattan is really cool and informative

I live upstate but was there recently with a visitor from Australia. Free harbor cruise on the Statton Island ferry. Ride over, get off and turn around and back on. Good view of Lady Liberty and lower Manhattan. Go see the big Christmas tree in Rockefeller Plaza, We did an open top bus tour, a bit chilly but was good. 911 museum is a must. John’s Pizza and Carmines Restaurant Times Square we really enjoyed. A few ideas, message me direct for more suggestions if you wish.

Hello Rasbury, yes, unfortunately only a week, but we want to enjoy the 6 days there to the full. On Sunday 1st December we will take the train from Cologne to Frankfurt Airport, spend the night there, fly off on Monday morning and arrive in New York at around 11:00 am local time.
    Greetings Peter.

Hello everyone, we are (unfortunately) back from NY. It was a complete sensory overload for us. We hadn't expected that and I think we'll fly back there for another visit. It was simply fantastic and it made me realize once again what a banana republic I live in here in Germany. In any case, we had a really great time and saw everything that was possible, walking about 10-17km a day and also taking the subway. Unfortunately, we also witnessed the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson live because we were staying in the Hilton Midtown and I was able to watch from above when the NYPD etc. became active there. We had only known the USA from our German television and internet and we felt very comfortable. It won't be our last trip to the country, it's addictive! I wish us all a wonderful Christmas, a good time with the family and all the best for the coming New Year. Best wishes from Germany / Cologne, Peter & Family
