Hello all,

I have old analog gauges which are problematic to say the least.  I have purchared the Smart Craft and Nema 2000 network for my rinker.  The cables provided to me to connect to my dual mercruiser 350 horizon engines have a plug that I can not find on my motor.  Everything I have been able to find it my round 14 pin connector should have a 10 pin cam connector, which I cannot locate on my motor.  Any help would be much appreicated.

Def read though the old posts here about members installing these and working out the kinks.  Everything from simply getting the right components, what wires to use, reprogramming ECU's so one is port and one is starboard to simply figuring out answers to questions.  I chased gremlins for a while till I got it right.  Even simply starting your engines in the same order is important.

Is reprogramming the CPU something you did yourself? I read elsewhere that you need to take it to a mercury tech to get that done.

Yes it needs to be done by a tech with the Merc diagnostics tool.

I did mine myself with a Rhinda ECM tool.  Best money ever spent to be honest.  $500 and it let me read any faults that happened and reset them. But yes.  If both are programmed as STBD then smartcraft gets confused.  I am kind of glad i tackled this on my 342 as it truly made me appreciate how easy it is for just a single engine vessel.

X2 I use the Diacom program on my laptop. I gives better options for saving and printing in my option.
