342 Anchor Locker Access

I have a 2006 342, and can't figure out how to access my anchor locker. I saw other threads mentioning that the mirror behind the front berth is attached with velcro and can easily be removed, but I don't think thats the case here. Am I missing something?

“Easily” may be a misnomer.  My 2008 330 is attached with the toughest, tightest Velcro you can imagine.  I was afraid I would break the mirror getting it off.  Once off I removed most of the Velcro.  It’s still tighter than it needs to be.

Does yours look similar? Is it just the mirror piece that comes off? I cant even figure out how to get behind it to pry.

You can get a finger under there and go from there- I took most of the velcro off also- it is not glass but I'm sure you can brake it but mine took a whipping and came off. Our boat is a 270- i may have removed the top cross piece to get access- can't remember 100%.

Mine looks different.  Definitely no trim in the way.  As @rasbury says, work your way around and try and get a finger in there.  Seems to be a lot of former/current 342 owners on here.  Maybe someone can chime in whether any trim needs to be removed.

I think i took my top piece off and there were only a couple of screws. On your panel, that center cover may come off and a couple of screws behind that for access....best I can recall.

Great video, but absolutely terrible design for a dyi-er to deal with.

Agree 100%. I didn't actually need to get in there, I just wanted to check it out. Make sure it's clean and check for leaks. But seeing how difficult it is to get in there, I won't be opening it up till i have to.
