Dam cormorants are wreaking havoc on my boat, so I am looking in to options to minimize their presence.  Early reading suggests that style is one of the more effective deterrents.   I just saw the thread where you discuss the bird deterrent ideas. Not sure how I missed it, but some good info in there. I think I will give that a try. Thanks for getting me started.

  @RiverRat232 I usually take it off. There’s been a couple times where I forgot and it hasn’t been an issue. I do have it attached to the nav light post with a Velcro strap. It works great to keep the birds away!

  I use the Velcro strap to hold all of the legs together and store it in the cabin. I’ll try to remember to take a picture next time I remove it.

  Taken last evening. Top image: Just put the boat on the mooring, and heading back to shore in the dinghy, we saw this localized rain-shower over the west side of our cove, illuminated by the setting sun. Just after we got back on shore my wife received a text from our friend who works on the cable ferry just around the corner, on the other side of the hill in the first pic.   Sometimes its not so much the size of the boat, just that it IS a boat.

  Yes, it is a bug zapper as well (it actually doesn't make the zap sound like the old days).
  
  I agree on size of boat. We love taking the dinghy out for rides and especially sunset cruises.
