I should have sold NIO when it was up 30%.  I've got 90s baseball cards worth more than my NIO at this point.

I sold some at end of year.  Planning to buy a little soon.  I think they’ll be a little movement in March near next ER.  That will be the time to sell again maybe depending on the ER.  It certainly isn’t helping me towards my next boat.  If I had kept what I had in AMAT (as discussed earlier in this thread) I’d have enough just in that stock to buy my next boat 😌

Welp that didn't last long. Mr Tariff just sunk the markets, unless you have silver or gold..

Same as last year, first couple weeks of January were off the charts green. Now we sink again... I need to check out of this planet for a few years.. then when normalcy returns I'll be back.

Ps. dont look at crypto right now.

What concerns me about this tariff warfare, other than we are paying for it, the WH seems to have a strong grip on the international markets as well as our portfolio.  Tell me, what could you do - globally- with prior knowledge of whom and when a country or product would suddenly have a tarriff applied or have a tariff removed? Somewhere, some folks, are lining their pockets beyond belief I'm sure.

We have politicians who's portfolio makes Warren Buffet look like a small time trader.... unfortunately none of the insider deals at government is a new concept.

I am, however, very thankful that it not longer cost 85 bucks to fill up my Toyota with diesel.   We're back up to 3.40 ish per gallon now but two weeks ago we were down to 2.89 a gallon for diesel.

Got into a little discussion with a guy at the marina today. He refuses to accept the fact that the current politicians are just lining their pockets everyday. However when I mentioned that ALL politicians appear to be in it for themselves every day, for decades and decades past, he was sure quick to agree about one side. Dude is so blind that it's us vs them, and not right vs left.

US markets open at 8pm tonight for 24 hr trading, and 4am tomorrow for pre market, if we don't drop down across multiple sectors other than silver and gold I'll be surprised.

It was for NIO today after announcing profit for 4th quarter.   Just the start of big things!  I had a buy in for 5k share at $4.37 yesterday but only made it down to $4.38.  If it goes down a little tomorrow I’ll be making sure I get them this time.

And here we are, rocket back up. Now the problem is my portfolio got hit **** Wed and Thursday and then only went 70% back up from the bottom.. this is how they do it. They hit you hard two days in a row and give it back, but not 100% of it back.. sigh.

So, last Friday I actually took some silver coins in to a very reputable coin dealer.  It was a very good day!  For example, I had silver dimes that I received $2.50 each.  Had one little coin that was extremely light.  Come to find out it had a lot of gold in it.  Lucky me, gave me enough to put some fuel in my boat this summer!

Looking forward to NIO reporting earnings at 8am tomorrow.  First time for a quarter with profit!

oh, if you only knew!  I still have a little ways to go to break even. I have also been buying a few thousand shares here and there and dumping just those every now and then to help my overall average.  I did an extra buy last week below $4.50 ( at what I thought was a no-brainer).

Well. Who could have known that we would start a war that would send oil sky high and the market down into "correction" territory.

Today was incredible shorting the nasdaq futures market.. while watch my retirement and regular portfolio drop off an actual cliff.

Oh well. Easy come, easy go I guess. Right?

It’s ok Jeff, only down for now and will return to highs.  I’m down as well and my NIO is down for absolutely no reason.  It’s actually going to get to a good time to invest a bit more if you have it (I don’t right now).  I’m thinking about going to part time at work this June.  But when I’m down a year’s salary in a couple weeks it can be hard to think part time.

    I'd like to be optimistic....but.
Saw a report this morning stating that "Around 878,000 American households were either late on their home loan payments for more than 90 days or were in foreclosure at the end of January."

While 2008 sucked, the only way my son (18 in a month) will be able to afford a home is if the market crashes.

If it crashes bad enough, I'm not sure how I'm going to pull it off but a 3br/2 bath on a 1+ acer lot will be the very next investment we make.

If you told me 20 years ago a dbl wide mobile home on 1 acer would pull 180-200k I'd have laughed at you.  My first house in '06 was an 1800 sq ft brick ranch home built in the 60s,  3/4 acre lot with a creek in the back yard for 120k, extremely nice neighborhood with no HOA.
