Vacuflush question

tonystoytonystoy Member Posts: 101 ✭✭✭
I am trying to track down a leak in my mid bilge. I have just started the investigation process but I am leaning towards the outlet of the toilet. My question is, will the vacuflush prime if there is a leak? My system primes perfectly and I never hear it re-prime until someone flushes again. Thanks for any help!

I had a leak at one of my freshwater fittings in the head which was draining into the mid bilge. I ended up tracking it down by using some of those blue shop paper towels to determine if it was coming from a thru-hull (AC), shower sump or freshwater source.

The slightest leak in the flapper will cause it to lose vacuum, so anything downstream of there will cause it to reprime.

it's likely your freshwater supply since you have a good vacuum seal, but the terminus of that is usually on the toilet itself and therefore in your bathroom where water would go to a drain if there was a leak rather than underneath. You may want to check for gasket leaks though by filling the toilet with water to a specific level to see if it goes down slowly. Also check your shower sump pump.
