The only good thing I see about this is for an application towards wakesurfing to meet the distance rule...maybe slightly better exhaust scavenging? Other than that, several negatives, the biggest being inability to "trim up" like you would with a traditional outdrive in shallow/beaching conditions to protect the props. Next would be trailering and trailer re-design to accommodate forward props. It's already bad enough but with the props another 3 feet forward I fear for the innocent trailers of the future.
I'll keep my 6000.00 outdrive facing the correct way what do these cost? What will insurance co's have to say about it? Am I just paranoid of striking something in the water?
