DIY Carpet / Flooring

My 276 is in need of new flooring, as the OEM carpet is pretty worn out. I'm going between getting carpet with higher quality backing, "teak look" foam, or the mesh/woven vinyl stuff.

Has anyone done a DIY of these at all? There are a couple options for premade patterns, but they are for the BR version of my boat, so I'm not 100% sure they will work exactly how I would like where my cuddy door is.

I have my old carpet that is definitely in good enough shape to be used as a template, if I go the route of buying sheets of material and cutting it myself.

Trace old carpet onto new. Cut with carpet scissors. Have a carpet shop add binding. Done.

I have done this in both my 330 and 350 - I recommend the weave with felt back (not rubber). Dries fast and no flaking.

Any installed pics or progress when making it? How much did the shop charge to add binding? Very interested in something like this.

Honestly couldn’t be easier. I did it in one piece on the 330 so no seam around the engine hatch. Very clean look.

I paid about $100 to have it bound (including binding sunbrella material).

I used these Fiskars heavy duty scissors.

@YYZRC wasn’t it a pain to unsnap/snap the carpet on the 330 every time you went in the ER?

No, because only used 6 snaps on the whole carpet. Not sure why Rinker installed 3000 of them. I removed 2994 of them and filled all the holes.

@YYZRC- How does the felt do with drying out quickly? I like the Corinthian Aqua Loc backing, but its way more expensive than the product you linked. My carpet goes all the way to the platform and it gets soaked constantly, so it needs to dry relatively quickly to prevent any smells.

I got a quote from a local place that will install Corinthian with Aqua Loc for $1350, which I thought was pretty reasonable, given the amount of separate pieces I have.

I will be $510 shipped for the felt flooring online, plus paying someone to sew the edge. Trying to balance out if it makes sense to do it myself or pay the extra for it to be done local.

Dries very fast as it wicks out. It seems that a lot of the colors are out of stock.

Does that make slippery? I'm sure it definitely helps make cleanup simple.
