Anyone with a 2002 342 Fiesta Vee had issues with the port 6.2 engine hydrolocking while docked?

    Just something to think about.  Risers are available that extend almost up to the engine hatch.  Now that I have them, the chance of a hydrolock is much reduced.  I have had hydrolock issues with the shorter risers but never at the dock, always during agressive power reductions allowing the stern wave to catch up with the boat.

    Thank you B_D.  On the mend and should be on the boat maybe next weekend if the WX is a bit cooler.  Without going into a lot of detail, one of the cures I am taking is a 6 week, 5 days/week in a hyperbaric chamber.  Lay there in a pure oxygen atmosphere pumped up to 2 atmospheres.  Among other things they put a grounded wrist strap on you to prevent any posslbility of a spark generated. Very interesting.  About half way thru the program.

    I did not mean to hijack the thread but since it seems that I have, our yacht club BYC is planning a cruise to the Bahamas.  I think the Salt Shaker is whinnying on the lift.  I think she knows!   Some time next year, maybe around May.  My GP allowed as how I must be an optimist.  I asked him why he thought that.  He said that must be so since I installed new engines.

    My starboard engine seems to be hydrolocked.  At the Dock.

    Exhaust flapper gone on port engine, caused water to enter cylinder. $2200,starter,flywheel,engine pull to repair. FYI replace starboard flappers also.

    Check your coupler while the engine is out, it's a cheap replacement for the boat age at this point.
