Bilge Pump Not Working 296 Captiva CC

Pump is not burnt and the propeller spins.  No light on the console switch when you manually turn it on.  Circuit breaker for the pump is tripped and cannot be reset even with the pump unplugged.
Plenty of juice - shore power is on......bad breaker maybe ?

Bad breaker or improper ground/short on switch. I would check the switch first, very easy to do.  The next thing you can do is move the 12V feed to the bilge pump to a free accessory switch (with at least same amperage) and check if that works.

I thought of trying another switch but the wiring in the dash area is pretty tight.  I suppose I could pull an unused accessory switch and swap it with  Bilge...have you seen the switches go bad before ?

My boat is fairly new, so no. But it could be the wiring, not the switch.

Switch is possible but more likely a dead short on a hot wire.
