During these winter months I'm not using the boat as often So my cabin has a smell to it mildew like but I have no mildew Or maybe just The smell of stagnant air? I know there's no air circulation, It's not coming from the waste tank it was pumped out and cleaned, So my question is should I put a dehumidifier in the cabin? Or is there something else I need to do. Any suggestions would be appreciated

The smell is probably from humidity you could used a few packs of desiccant or a boat desumidifier that should help -

I leave my cabin closed during the winter, but use 2 large desiccant dehumidifier buckets. I have had no problems with musky smells.Boat Name: King Kong

I use 2 buckets for winter storage, one forward and one aft. They work very well. Durning the season I use the hanging scented ones.

I agree with others, get the damprid in there. I'm assuming your plug is pulled (so no bilge water) and the bilge was cleaned before the layup? I use a small bucket and a couple hangups below and the big bucket up top under the cover.Dream 'Inn III -- 2008 400 Express

We use two containers of damp rid in the cabin during winter storage. Changing the crystals at least once while it is on the hard. We are stored inside and I leave the front berth, head and rear berth windows cracked open so there is some air movement in the cabin (something we learned the hard way when storing our rv in the winter). We also have a bilge area under the rear berth cushions that we wet vac out when we pull it for storage. You might want to check and see you have any unknown bilge areas in the cabin that has water in it. Good luck!

I have used a container with a sponge and vinegar in to get rid of the musky smell put it in a sandwich container drill some holes in it then place sponge and pour some vinegar on it. It also helps with mold too
