Waste Holding Tank Removal - 312 Fiesta Vee

Just splashed the boat and added chemical to the holding tank.  It seems i have a small leak somewhere as I have some blue fluid in the bilge.   Very Minor leak but i don't want waste sitting in my bilge.   The holding tank doesn't appear to be removable without removing or atlas serious dismantling of the starboard engine.   Has anyone done this.  What do you think it will involve.

    You can try one of those fiberglass repair kits.  I'm not sure how well they work given the expansion and contraction of the tank.  They seem to work well in many RV repairs.  This all predicates on locating the leak and it being accessible for repair.  If not you will likely have to cut the tank out in pieces if you don't want to pull your engine, which is what I would do, albeit about one of the worst possible repairs for a guy that does not deal well with poop...  Once out they make a lot of different sized tanks where you can likely get a new one in there without much issue.  Good luck..

    Check all fittings and clamps first. Where did you put the chemical in? Toilet?

    If it's blue, you should be able to trace a path.  Find out where the leak is, it could be something very, very simple to fix.

    If the tank is polypropylene nothing will stick to it, not Fiberglass or epoxy.  But it can be weld.

    Poly tanks are hard to break, plumbing leak maybe? on the pump out connector?

    Or you could just let it leak in the Potomac. The river wont mind and it helps the snakeheads  :)
