Reconfiguring Table Pedestal

Anyone remember the topic that someone recentered their table without moving the pedestal mount, but having a pedestal come part way up and another pedestal connected to it? Make any sense? My pedestal base for my table in the cockpit area is not in the center and I'd like to have it centered without moving the floor mount (& I just bought new carpet, so that won't happen). I remember someone coming up with something that more less put 2 90's in the pole to move it over?? I'd like to keep the mount in the center of the table for obvious reasons. If I moved it one diameter of the pedestal pole over I thing that would be perfect.
