need some help

so this past week I was coming back to the marina and their was a lot of debri in the lake.  I was doing my best to avoid all the logs but I didn't avoid a stick that was about 2 feet long and 1" in diameter.  It got caught up between my outdrive and the haul of the boat.  I had to jump in the water to free it so i could continue on my way.  My problem now is I have it docked in my slip and I noticed oil leaking.  I'm thinking It may have punctured a hole in the line that raised and lowers the outdrive.  Any thoughts on if it could be something else or what the fix could be?

    it is either the outdrive power trim fluid or trim tab fluid

    You have to pull your boat and have it properly inspected.  No one is going to be able to guess any better than you what's going on, especially based on a few sentences. Do yourself a favor and get it done, you know you will feel better once you know what is going on.

    In the meantime find out if you are really leaking trim fluid by checking your reservoir in the engine compartment.  You can't check your gear lube in the water.  It's hard to imagine a 1" stick hurting an outdrive though.  Possibly the trim cylinders fed by those short braided hoses.

    Speaking of debris in the water:  at my dock a week ago after all the rain in Lake County, Ohio.  Yikes!

    Miraculously most of it floated out into Lake Erie before I left the dock a couple days later, although I had to throw a line over one big log and rake away some of  the small stuff.

    It may be the outdrive lube reservoir hose, it is a small 1/4 inch rubber hose that is held onto the outdrive bell housing and the transom with barbed fittings and very small hose clamps. The through hull fitting is made of plastic and is a p.i.t.a. to replace, i am having my second one in two years replaced. Should have been made of brass, Mercruiser design, not Rinker!
