should my trim tabs be set to bow fully down when starting off and then trim bow up once on the plane or the other way around?

I go bow down until planing

Bow down till plain then bow up. I also trim my outdrives up a little to bow a bit more.

Bow down fully before you accelerate. Once on plane, at around +25 mph, then gradually start lifting them. Two to three pushes of each button at a time. Wait 10 seconds to stabilize, and another two or three pushes of each button. Repeat until the boat feels slightly uncomfortable (bouncing around) and then bow down a press or two.

Thanks LaRea. It says in the link to start off with bow all way up and then to start trimming it down. This is the opposite to what others have said on this thread. Which is correct?

It's a matter of preference. I throttle up then use my tabs to bring the bow down once on plain I bring tabs up..... either way works

Right -- the FAQ tells how to adjust trim after you're already on plane. For initially getting up on plane from a standstill, use bow down.
