312 Gasoline tanks

Hi  Guys, I have a 2004 312 fiesta V with twin Volvo 5.0....with two 82.5galons gas tanks ....somebody Knows how works the gasoline system ?. because I used the boat, was working perfect, but  spent 25 galons from  port gas tank and almost nothing from starboard gas tank ...and few day later I filled the tanks and have the same problem ,but now it is reverse ..nothing from port gas tank and spent all from starboard gas tank...Is there  connection between tanks ?
I can,t find any information about this problem ..Thank You...!!!
