Winter Boating in Florida

Wow, weather could not have been more pleasant for boating that it was this weekend. This is absolutely the best time of the year, especially after a long and hot summer, to get on the water. The water levels are up nice in the river here locally, lot's of boats on the water enjoying the mid 80's weater.....

    Nice lifestyle guys! Enjoy! Going to wash and wax the car today. It's a real bonus at about 50 degrees - so I had better get it done before the real stuff hits! BTW, I like the Meguiars Flagship carnuba boat wax so much I use it on the SUV. The dealership always asks me what I use LOL. Anyway, I'll just pretend I'm waxing the boat - only smaller LOL

    Give it a try Steve, if it works, buy a load of it and repackage it as a premium car wax. Then you can have a 50 footer with bigger Yannies and pods - and REALLY live the lifestyle.

    I hear Ras not too far behind ya but i will take all the boating I can until than. Cold hot raining even snowing (did that at xmas one year) the admiral thinks I'm crazy at times but I've been called worse. Looking towards the gulf in a few years myself

    well good luck to you JC, it is very nice down here but you do have to be prepared for the heat! So many folks visit here in January and think the weather is so nice.....then August comes.

    Similar to up here.  You just stay inside with the air conditioning more in the summer...we stay in the heat more in the winter.  It's been in mid 70's this week.  Still not sure why I winterized so dang early, I generally don't do that.  We had such an awesome summer this year with the boat I guess I was ready to get the wood splitter out.

    Handy, you are right.  Easily could've made it probably to the end of the year.  There are several people in the marina that hold out till December, but most of them don't usually do their own winterizing.  So for them, they don't care that someone else is doing that in colder weather.

    As far as the turkey, I know 2 different boater friends that have cooked a turkey in their on-board oven.
