Quick question, the wiper recently stopped 'parking' and I just also discovered the spot light will rotate but wont move up or down, are these related? Any suggestions on where to start would be great, thanks everyone really appreciate the advice it saves a bunch of time. Is there a ground block behind the dash?

    They are not related.

What did you mean the wiper won't park?

As for the light it may be one of the motors. If it moves side to side you have 12V there. There's only one feed. I assume you have a remote at the helm. This woresults wirelessly to the light. I've opened mine up before. Not complicated. Biggest challenge was trying not to drop stuff into the water.

And yes there's a ground block at the helm.

@MarkB Thanks for the feedback, something to look at this weekend. When I turn the wiper off at the helm the blade 'parks/stops' at the bottom of the windshield, like a car, i.e. doesn't just stop on the screen where the switch is turned off.

Richard, I have to check mine. I think if I shut it off mid-swipe it may just stop there. I get my boat back next week (out of winter storage).

Do you actually recall it "parking" before?

@MarkB yes when I switched it off on the dash it stops at the bottom of the windshield.

Does anyone know the location of the of the ground bar behind the dash on a 2007 280EC. I hit a big wave Sat and the wiper started on its own. Electrician says a loose ground so has anyone removed the ‘trim’ piece that houses the lights and cabin light switch above the TV on a 280 to access the wiper motor?

Richard, I checked last night and yes if I cut power mid swipe the wiper does go back down to the rest position.

Finally fixed the wiper motor. Removed the panel above the tv and found a broken / corroded wire. Removed motor, made new connections refitted motor and sealed the opening in the deck. All good.

Excellent.  How did you remove that panel? My friend's motor isn't working at all and he knows it's a wire break, as when he runs a temporary wire on top of his boat from the battery it works.

@MarkB I removed both interior lights and there was 2 screws in each light opening that attaches the panel to the cabin roof.

Isn't the access to the horn in there as well?
