Gimbal grease?

what grease do you guys use on the Zerk fittings on the gimbal? Is the Merc gimbal grease required or are there alternatives?

    I use general marine grade grease, unless I run out, then I use whatever is in the gun, I figure it's better quality than no grease! Lol

    @awhires bad move using grease that is not marine rater. "Regular" grease will get hard in water and cause all kinds of problem. Marine grease on everything.

    Twice a year, about 6 or 7 pumps each is what I do.

    Don't forget about the grease fitting on the coupler also.

    If the gimbal bearing is in the water, he has bigger issues than the grease getting hard.

    Its also about the environment its in. I have seen stirring completely seized because the grease it not marine grade. Of course I am in salt water......
