03 Rinker 270 FV TV Upgrade

So was going to remove the whole compartment where old tv was and make a flat panel as others have to match the look of the 280 FV and mount a flat screen. I decided rather then going through all that cost and having something that wasnt original why not mount the tv in the current location this way when I get a bigger boat.......hahaha......I can just remove it with no permanent damage. Well I think I like it . Came out pretty good. I put a pedestal mount so tv swivels in all directions and you can still access the area behind the TV to mount a DVD player etc and be totally hidden.

    I could have got a TV that just fit inside the edges of the enclosure but I wanted the biggest one I could fit based on the height and not overhanging left and right too much. I think it looks perfect and love the idea that its easy to remove and all my wiring and hookups are already there. TV weighs less then the mount so no issues there. I removed the 6 cd changer unit since we never use anyways to fit.

    I did something similar last year... Put a 24" LED TV/DVD combo, but I mounted it on an swivel arm. Can be tucked inside the cabinets or traveling and viewed from aft cabinet too.

    I bought a 24 inch samsung from costco was on sale for $120 and bought there swivel mount too for $50 I can get the part numbers. love it. Got (3) 5/16 inch by 1inch lag bolts and pre drilled in back cherry panel and mounted bracket on center.

    Trashman- mine is a 24" LED DVD combo. I used to tuck it into the cabinet and stuff a towel in front of it while traveling, but I recently added an adjustable bungee cord and anchors to the back. I tightened up the swivel mount as well... Stays rock solid.

    diggin, thats nice, think I'll do the same, hate the 13 inch, you should put this info in Rinker custom projects for future boaters.

    I picked up an AC/DC TV with a DVD/Blue Ray player built in at a truck stop.  I think it is a 24".  Still haven't mounted it, but it works better that way since we can move it out in the cockpit and then pick it up and move it to the cabin at bed time.

    Anyone know where the coax wire runs from the black antanae booster box out to? Cant find it anywhere nor do I see another antanae other then the vhf one for the radio

    jmichels  Mine went to antena on arch, looking at the picture of your boat, I don't a antena on the arch. take off the inspection plate on bottom side of arch under the vhf antena. See if the wire is in there.

    I have a antanae on the arch too. Thing Is I hooked up the cable wire from the black box to the tv and turned it on but I didnt get any channels over the air.... so thought maybe its not hooked up?

    Did you re-program your TV, search for channels, go to menu on TV ,

    I mounted mine up front. We sleep backwards anyway, as there is more headroom anyway......and more people can sit and watch it this way. Nice to have all the cabinet for storage too. Allows using a bigger TV too. Smart TV also, just plug in a usb full of movies and your set!Allows

    Belleville MXZ . nice . Ya I was considering that too but with 2 young boys wasnt sure so how long it would last in tact lol. Whats nice with the swivel mount I put I I still use the old location for storage behind it anyways.  what size is that?

    jmichels -  when you get a chance, can you post a pic of where you mounted the bracket to the boat.   Am closing on mine this week, and this is one of the first upgrades that I plan.  I like diggins mount, but might like yours better....thanks

    I borrowed diggin2day1's idea and mounted my new TV in front of the old TV cabinet on my 2003 270.  The TV looks bigger than it is in the pictures.  I tucked up the wires for the second pic.  I can swing it around to watch from the aft cabin too.

    Looks good! We don't watch tv that much but we did replace ours and it fits in the cabinet but mot mounted. Currently it has a long cable so I can move it around. I would like to run a cable up front and plug it in up there without the long umbilical cord as there is where we watch it most- its on the list.

    Looks good @JonnyM . @tniggel mounted his TV in the same location on his 270 so he could swing it around to watch it from the aft cabin at night. Does that TV work on 12VDC or is it 120VAC only?
