  Ran ok before the impeller? Did it overheat? Plugs and a tune up, did you replace the coupler behind the impeller pump?

  possible it got hot when the impeller fried, fouled the plugs.  Notoriously eats sparks plugs.

  Same thing just happened to me.   It was a misfire on cyl 1.   Mechanic replaced plugs and now works like a charm

  Oddly, after that day it worked itself out.  Seems to be running fine without hesitation now.  I will go ahead and grab a plug though.  Thanks

  Yes. It is a V-twin cylinder Kawasaki engine. 
  
  NGK BPR-4ES. They are long nosed plugs. Do not use the engine info to find plugs, it will say to use the short ones. 
  
  These things eat plugs. Even if they look good: replace.
