SHELTER ISLAND ANCHORAGE

Looking for overnight anchoring ideas around Shelter Island NY. Planning a trip from Hartford Connecticut area, down the Connecticut river, across Long Island sound, spend the day at Sag Harbor NY, overnight on the hook around Shelter Island, visit Greenport NY, before returning up the Connecticut river.

    Cocullas harbor is neat.it's just between sag and green port .on South East on the island.canals is OK and deep enough.

    Was anchored in coecles harbor last Wednesday during the wicked weather we were having.... Excellent holding there(thank god!!). Beautiful place to drop the hook. Make sure you stay in the designated anchorage(marked with white buoys). There's a dinghy dock in coecles Marina and you can get transportation into town for groceries/supplies. 
    Yes, it is right by Ram Island.
