B3 raw water hose from transom plate to pump

Question, looking at the plumbing for the hose that runs from the transom plate to the raw water pump there are a couple 'quick disconnect' fittings (at least according to the parts illustration). Can someone tell me how these things  work?  I would like to add a fresh water inlet to that hose so I can flush the system after use.

Mine does not have a disconnect and if it did, would be a bugger to get to it!

The quick disconnect makes life much easier when changing the impeller.

It's at the back of the motor?

No such creature on my 350MAGs.  You won't flow any water without the engine on except back out the outdrive.

Greg is correct.  You can do a quick disconnect there and take that hose out with the seawater pump when changing the impeller.  But, I'm also thinking people disconnect it there when draining for the winterization because that hose can still have water in it even after pulling the blue drain plugs at times.  It really isn't too terrible to reconnect, I've done it many a times, even in someone's 270.  (there's more room in a single engine 270 than many of the smaller cruisers that have twins (ie 290, 310/312/320, 342).  The boats that have it will have that hose in red.  (at least that's what I've seen)
