Drive Trim pump fault

I've got a volvo penta engine and drive and the drive trim has stopped working and has a drive trim fault displayed on the EVC. I have tried putting power directly to the pump and it will then work so it's not a fault with the pump. Looks like the EVC is not letting it work for some reason. Is there a sensor somewhere that I'm missing?

The wire connector on the pump is famous for getting hot and losing connection.
My former boat had VOlvo and same thing happened. After looking into it I found the connector half melted.
There also is a red breaker on the motor. behind the spark arrestor.
If the up or down trim is held too long this will trip. If you have checked this as well, I'm out of ideas....
