Replacement Steering Wheel Choices

Hi Guys. We currently have the standard aluminium and vinyl steering wheel on our 2009 226 BR. We want to replace it with a nice looking wood trimmed wheel and have spotted the Burl Polished Rinker part number 232430. Does anyone have any opinion on this and what size taper is on the boat?
Thanks very much

Upgrading to a wood-trimmed steering wheel like the Burl Polished Rinker (part number 232430) is a great way to enhance the look and feel of your 2009 226 BR. Many boat owners prefer wood-trimmed wheels for their classic and premium aesthetic, as well as their comfortable grip.
Before purchasing, it's important to confirm the taper size of your current steering shaft to ensure compatibility. Whether your boat uses a mechanical or hydraulic steering system, most marine steering wheels are designed for a standard 3/4" taper with a keyway. Still, it's always best to double-check with your boat’s manual or measure the existing wheel hub.
If anyone on the forum has installed this specific Rinker wheel, their insights on fitment and overall feel would be valuable. Let us know how the upgrade goes!
