I'm Confused...... does my 2005 250FV have 2 fuel filters?

So I am trying to understand if my 2005 250 FV with a 5.7 GI-e (280hp) has two fuel filters. I understand that it should have a Fuel filter and water separator all in one (looks like a oil filter canister) on the starboard side of engine. Does it also have a inline fuel filter  between the tank and the engine? Also should I change one or both in the fall or spring??

    Not sure about an in-line with your set up, but it would probably be between the shut off valve and your engine. As for the water separator, change after you winterize and leave it empty. Use oil on the gasket when you install.

    Conventional wisdom says to change it in the spring, as some fuel may have collected h2o and/or varnished while sitting.. others have reasons for doing it in the fall, though..

    You only need the one filter/separator.. there are inline filters, but they can jack with pressures and delivery.... If you don't have one, for the love of God don't install one.. it will be visible on the line between the spin on and feed.. if it ain't stock, get it out of there..

    Maybe Al will drop in and offer specific advise for that engine setup.

    Thanks guys, I didn't see a inline filter thats why I asked because I was reading some post with people talking about a inline filter. If I was to change the fuel filter/water separator while the boat was on the water do I need to turn off fuel? Will the fuel come spewing out when I try to change it? Where is the fuel shut off?

    There should be an in-line valve, probably on the firewall. Likely a ball valve that only turns 90 deg. Personally, i shut the valve and run the engine for a bit to get some of the fuel out. You will get fuel spillage, so fit something under the filter to catch it.

    Any thoughts on fogging or not fogging fuel injected engine? it will sit from Nov to about mid april!
