bravo III raw water pump - crank driven

Anyone ever see this in action or installed?

    what do you do about a belt the old pump has to be removed from the loop right

    I would do something like this.

    a fake pulley in it's place.

    You would have to do some fab work no doubt.  Or I suppose if lazy you could remove the guts from the pulley mounted pump and just use it as a place holder.

    Thanks I think Ill look into this with the fake pulley ,I had a pump like this on a old chrysler 318.Im going on my  first full year with this boat last year got it half way through the season put it in and just used it. This year  for the motor I was going to rebuild the water pump change oil ,filter ,water separator ,maybe  wires  ,Oh yeah 1/2 way through I changed the IAC valve and muffler the idle would  fluctuate up and down a little

    Got a picture of this set up? I can't picture it. But anything is better than the set up they got now. Thats the only thing I miss on my volvo. Impellar took 10 minutes to change lol.

    @GMSLITHO - That's cool...keep me updated if you try this out.  I just changed my impeller yesterday so it would be a while before I consider this.  I'm sure others on the forum would be in your debt if it worked out for you.

    Interesting, but no flexible coupling. Looks like it mounts completely rigid, meaning something gives eventually.  

    I know on my 342, not enough room forward of the engine for this, then I would need 2 custom hoses too.

    Oh it goes right on the front of the block. Man this would be so much easier! Could change an impellar in a fraction of the time. Just need to extend the hoses.

    @Black_Diamond - Flexible coupling? you mean where it's attached to the crank?  What would eventually give in the scenario?  I don't see the issue.

    It would be nice if they sold it as a complete conversion kit the hoses replacement pulley for the motor and the brackets all one

    We had a VP in our previous Rinker and that was the easiest impeller to change.

    Took a look at it tonight not much room in front of the motor because of the tank I think I’ll keep this set up for now

    How done does it take to change the impellers on a 350 mag, I have to change both of mine.

    Depends.  If the old impeller is still in tact maybe an hour.  If the impeller is missing pieces you need to try and find those pieces and that can take some time.

    They should be good no issues but thought I will start the season with new ones as we just bought the boat.

    Took mine out today took about  1/2 hr it was all there but it took a set don’t know when it was changed last
