Trim switch question.

I took the boat out for its maiden voyage today, and all went well until I put it on the trailer and the outdrive wouldn’t trim up.  Neither up nor down would do anything. No solenoid click, or anything, I jumped across the up solenoid, and was able to raise the drive. 

How do I know what trim switch to order?  The throttle control has no writing or model number that I can see. 

Sorry for the poor picture, but I didn’t take one before I covered the boat, so I used another picture I had and zoomed in on it.

    I would check all of your connections before replacing the switch.

    Yes, I did both of those, and I bypassed the limit switches, as well.

    Solenoid working correctly?  I had one that clicked but did not pass the current to the pump.

    It won't go up or down. I'd think the likelihood of both solenoids failing at the same time is very small.

    Sorry should have asked the question differently.  Meant to ask if they are clicking at all.

    Have you bypassed the switch?  Directly shorted the wires that are shorted when the switch is engaged?  That would tell you if the switch is the problem.  If there is no clicking then power to the pump is being interrupted somewhere.  Take one component out of picture at a time until  you're left with the cause.

    Al's suggestion of the connections at the pump are a good place to look.

    I went to MarineMax this morning and picked up a new switch. Trim works great. 

    The alternator should be done being rebuilt to produce 170 amps by the end of the week.
