310 ac no water flow

my friend just got a 2003 310 and I turned on water valve for ac but no water running through pump. I think it just needs primed. Do I just pull the black hose till water sprays and the connect. Ac is running but no water flow on discharge. I took off strainer and water is flowing FYI.

Take her for a run with the valve open and then try. Mine does the same thing each year until I take her out and it self primes.

Yep running primes but you also can just pull the outlet hose off the pump, turn on the system and then jam the hose back on fast when water starts to shoot out of the pump

Back flush water thru the system. We get @tniggel 's to prime that way every spring.

There I was offering the excuse to have to take her for a run...  :)

I found that taking output hose off pump with valve closed then open valve until water starts to come out. Close valve place line back on to pump then open valve does the trick.
