Fuel/Water Separater in a 2006 Rinker 250 EC With Mag 350

I have a 2006 Rinker 250 EC with the mag 350 (single) engine. As the marina was winterizing this week and reviewing specs from Rinker they claim I should have a fuel water separater? The boat does have the cool fuel filter which was replaced but that is the only fuel filter they could find. He said they did see a coiled fuel line in the area where the fuel/water separater should be, but it was absent. This boat has been running perfectly since 2006 (6 seasons) and I am hesitant to add the additional filter and change any of the fuel set up. If it ain't broke, why fix it? Thoughts and feedback would be appreciated.
