Stinky head

mskpharmdmskpharmd Member Posts: 44 ✭✭
hey I noticed a bad odor first the first time ever on my boat this year after having the head pumped out. Seems that actually the smell is worse in main cabin near kitchen as opposed to the head area. I have a 330. Any ideas to reduce or remove this odor. I’ve never had a smell issue before with the boat and I’ve owned it since 1999.
thanks

Are you sure it’s not the fresh water holding take? I once filled my fresh water holding tank and did not add any bleach and the cabin smell was horrible. Just a thought

If the pink antifreeze was put in your water tank at winterization and not flushed well before filling the tank that stuff will stink also when you run water.

@Willhound that stuff stinks even worse if it's still in the water heater when you turn it on.

Yep. When I did my winterizing last fall I disconnected the hot water tank lines and joined them with a nipple. The pink stuff was run through the lines and pump but the fresh water and hot water tanks were simply allowed to drain.
