Blind or something to keep the light out

Hello everyone, does anyone know what to use for hatch window to block the light from coming in and waking me up in the mornings. This is for a 2002 342 fv. Thanks for the help

    Have a local canvas shop make u a cover then attach to the buttons on the on the 4 corners of frame. You might have to pry off the button covers

    I had a canvas shop make me up a square for my hatch. They also made me up some rectangles for the port lights. My cabin is rather dark now.

    My 08 330 has a shade/screen that is mounted to the hatch frame. Pull one way it’s a screen, pull the other way it’s a shade. They both separate in the middle by a magnet to have it fully open. All of the hatches have it installed, I thought it was a pretty cool item.

    Made by Oceanair. They make a bunch of different sizes that might just screw on to your existing hatch.

    Bomar also makes them I believe

    The ones made by Bomar are a little expensive. I was going to go that route but the canvas option was much cheaper.

    Our dock neighbor with a Mariah has canvas covers on the outside that I thought I could get made but was unsure if there was enough room in the Bomar frame for the snap base screw and still seal okay. Anyone done this?

    @randy56 lol...i have been using a piece of carpet that i put an owl on to hold it down. But i would like something on the inside if wasn't crazy expensive.

    @cls10105 my boat is put away and shrink wrapped for the winter. I could certainly check in the spring. I am assuming you mean the one that is right over the V-berth. Are you sure that yours does not have the built in shade and screen? I thought they all had them.

    If it was missing, I would think a big part of your hatch frame would be missing. They do stowaway pretty neatly, it’s possible it’s there.

    @aero3113 nothing looks broke but nothing is there except the window and latches to open it. No screen or nothing.  We have looked the boat over pretty good and haven't saw it.

    Our 342 has the built-in sliding screen/blackouts.  GLC has a few different sizes.

    In our old 280 we had the "pop-in" screens.  Basically a flexible wire frame with screen material attached.  The PO of that boat cut pieces of foam poster board that was black to fit in the windows and stuck them up between the hatch and the screen.  They worked pretty well.

    U would have to remove button covers than unscrew frame and change with new frame with built in screen
