I think I found the listing online, it looks really nice and that should buff out. If the price is reflecting it's condition then it's usually not a bad deal.
Yeah the listing broker put a pic from 3 years ago. Called her on the carpet for it but the rest were taken 4 months ago. Offer took into account for wax job, bottom paint and new canvas.
I have a tan Hull 270....I can't imagine going after that Hull...can you use a sandblaster? That is going to be a lot of work for our new rinker brother!
I went from never having a boat to my 280. The twins you have will make it so much easier. Best advice I have is take your time and never move faster than your willing to hit the dock. The first time I launched I skipped checking my engine bay and burned up my impeller because I forgot to put the garden hose connection cap back on. Had I taken 5 minutes I could have prevented that
Oh well that will help. Watch lots of YouTube videos, there seems to be an abundance of twin engine boat docking even though this seems to be the easiest. I'm sure you can find plenty of volunteers to go on a free boat ride.
It will clean up if done right. It’s a must to keep up after it once done. If you want a perfect shine that will last with easy maintenance, have it painted or wrap it.
FYI, any comments from @Dream_Inn or @Alswagg count 2x or 3x on this model.
Bringing the hull back to life won't be cheap, but it's a must-do. I think $2.6k is a high but it depends on your neighborhood. She needs to be wet sanded, compounded, polished and then waxed. Four steps, like fine woodworking. Can't skip any steps or you'll regret it, and that's a lot of square feet.
I was quoted the equivalent of $1300 USD to do the same 4 step restoration on a black hull 340 that I was looking at buying. Agreed with LaRea that $2600 USD is maybe a bit steep.
Thanks @LaRea. I do know the boat inside out. If you have any particular questions, please ask. I have seen every book and cranny in the boat. I may actually know the previous owner of that boat...did it sell a couple years ago from Longport?
Nice boat! Great looking and looks like it was taken care of. $2600 sounds right as it must be wet sanded, that can not just be buffed out. Anyone that buffs it should guarantee that it will last at least a month or so as I’ve seen boats like this look great after a good compound.... and they are back to fully dull and oxidized after a few weeks and a few good rains. Agree she must be brought back and having someone do it right with wet sanding will be worth it so that it lasts all summer and you just need to maintain it.
