Interior Bow Panels

Hello I am new to this forum.

I was given a 1991 Rinker Captiva 186. It needs a lot of work. I will be doing a motor swap and some interior repair.

My question is regarding the Bow Panels. They appeared to be screwed in from the back side but I cannot figure out how to gain access to the screw heads. I will try to attach some images. If this was covered in a previous thread, could you please direct me to that thread? Or perhaps it is covered some other place?

Different boat but my 280 has little screws on the bottom edge that I think hold the cushions on.

Welcome!  Looks like a fun restoration project, and you've come to the right place. 

In most later models, as @Aqua_Aura mentioned, you'd remove 2-3 small screws along the bottom edge, then remove the cushion by sliding it upwards about 1/4".  I can't tell whether yours is built that way.

Oh I see some bolts sticking out where the one cushion is off. That's a mystery to me but I'm sure someone will chime in. Maybe @Lake_Bum I think he has a Captiva.

Welcome to the forum.  Please post pictures as you go along restoring the boat.  There are plenty of people that have done restoring and we are all interested to see the progress.

I just found this old post. This may help a little. It sounds like they didn't think about removal when they built the boat. 

Velcro back in place may be an easier option.

Yeah, you might need to cut some access holes and then cover them with inspection hatches like these:

Thank you all for your responses. That one link to the 94 Captiva appears to be the same exact situation.

I saw a product in a Sailrite how to video called Beau Clips. I think that might be a viable replacement. I will just rip the old stuff off and try to push or unscrew the old fasteners out. I would be happy to post progress photos.
