    Actually you can do it quicker than that. I have a little wrench that you back off that nut just a hair and that anchor will spit out like poop through a goose...getting it back up however is a real challenge and have done that..
    And I always  bump the boat forward while trying to raise it. I think I even ran the generator for a while with the charger on just to run it. It starts the boat fine ...did not try to turn on both batteries, did not want to chance killing them and be stuck...guess I can pull them and get a load test done on them and that will tell  me  right?

    On my 270, if I'm on battery 1 and operating the windless, is it running to battery 2 which should be a deep cycle house battery or is going to run on which ever battery is selected?

    So the bilge runs even if the battery switch is off so made me wonder...

    Yes, bilge pump should be wired direct to the batteries.
